Recently Mdther took part in a day long workshop with Headliners, to explore and challenge the misrepresentations of young refugees, asylum seekers and young migrants in the media. The banner picture is his own self portrait and his work is part of a newly started collection of #YoungRefugeeVoices

"I like to play football and I like to play basketball, these are my favourite sports. My favourite food is pizza as if I is hungry I can eat it. I love the cheese and everything. Sometimes I play and sometimes I am serving my family and sometimes I come to school.

On my first day in school we went with a teacher to climbing. It was very fun but some people there can’t climb.

Its important that people know about people like me...

All of my family are from the Sudan. I come to the UK to learn English. I came in March 2017.

I like about London my friends and my school. I don’t like the weather in London. Every time is cold. I can’t swim or eat ice cream as its cold. In my country I can eat ice cream and anything.

I want people to know that I am from Sudan, I am Sudanese. Its important that people know about people like me as I want them to like me and be my friend and help me.

In the future I want to be a doctor as I want to help the people."
