In the early part of 2016, we worked with young people from Newcastle and South Tyneside as part of 'From Care to Independence',  a research project being delivered by The Prince’s Trust, with funding from The Big Lottery Fund

As part of the project, The Prince’s Trust have been working in partnership with Headliners to offer young people the chance to explore and share their experiences of being in care through photography and media courses.

The young people used photography to capture images which represented issues such as home and belonging, identity and stereotypes.

The Battle of the minds: The battle between the side of me that has potentional and the side of me that withdraws

When a girl has had a few boyfriends she gets called a slag. When a boy has a few girlfriends he gets called a hero, it’s not fair. This stereotype really bothers me.

Young people get blamed for everything. In our area there are loads of smashed windows that have not been repaired for a long time. Because of the media it’s young people who get the blame. This gets under my skin.
