Our Projects Previous Projects Safe Spaces North East England Headliners (UK) North East team are delighted to be able to deliver our Safe Spaces North East project kindly funded by the players of People’s Postcode Lottery. The Safe Spaces project is delivering weekly sessions for 12 months in Tyne and Wear with a flexible and holistic approach supporting care experienced young people to access a safe space to come together. The purpose of the Safe Spaces Young People’s hubs is to bring young people into a local, safe space in which they can explore current issues and how that affects their day-to-day life to share their stories, alongside embedded mentoring activities to build the tools to deal with those issues. Our hub activities enable young people to build their self-confidence by providing weekly digital inclusive sessions with blended group multi-media activities, 1-2-1 mentoring backed by an ‘hands-on’ digital media programmes to enable the young people to build resilience, meet new friends, reduce isolation and develop skills. We use multi-media to enable the young people to learn skills in photography, podcasting, video creation and editing to showcase their learning and gain OCN accreditation. Headliners (UK) is grateful to the players of the People's Postcode Lottery for supporting this vital work.
