Platinum Jubilee Funding from The National Lottery Community Fund To celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Headliners (UK) is delighted to share the news that our charity has received funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK for our London Young Platinum Green Champions project. Headliners (UK) has been awarded £50,000 of National Lottery funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to help bring our community together to celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee and to help support our community-led activity in Hackney, Islington, Tower Hamlets and Lewisham to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee. This funding has been made possible thanks to players of The National Lottery and we are proud that we are one of 92 projects across the country to receive funding. Across the UK throughout 2022, celebrations will be held in honour of Her Majesty The Queen’s 70th year on the throne. To mark this momentous occasion, Headliners (UK) are bringing young people together within a new London's Young Platinum Green Champions project to support young people to access green spaces and nature. The project is seeking to reach at least 124 young people aged 11-25 years from under-served communities in London to celebrate their access to green spaces through multi-media programmes, workshops and summer action volunteering opportunities. We will also be enabling young people to undertake summer social action in their local communities to celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee and improve young people’s access to green spaces. Our project links to the Platinum Jubilee theme of Our Shared Natural World - Deepening our care and action locally for the natural world. Ali Talbot, Chief Executive of Headliners (UK) said "We are incredibly pleased to have received this kind support from the National Lottery Community Fund to enable young people in London to mark Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee. Our project will enable many more young people to access green spaces and nature whilst being able to share their stories through multi-media activities. Thank you to the players of the players of the National Lottery for making this possible.
