NCS Programme Assistant - Kickstart Scheme

Headliners (UK) is looking to recruit a Kickstart Apprentice to support our NCs Contract programme in the North East.

Our role is part of the Government's Kickstart scheme that provides funding to employers to create jobs for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit.

The role of NCS Programme Assistant would be part of the Headliners (UK) North East NCS Team and would report directly to the North East Project Manager. This manager is responsible for the operational delivery of the Headliners (UK) Lot 12 NCS contract operations.

The NCS Programme Assistant is primarily responsible for supporting the delivery of NCS activity across various operational functions. The role responsibilities involve a strong focus on programme and event planning and operational use of resources across 4 key areas of NCS planning and delivery.

These key areas are: Recruitment of NCS participants and in particular of  our Delivery Partner Keep Karm communications and events. The programme planning and delivery support for our NCs summer programme and supporting our Social Action programme through our Change Makers Delivery.

Key Responsibilities will include some but not all of the below (subject to time of year):

  • To support with the NCS Co-ordinator with the follow up Young People and Parent and Guardian calls leading into Keep Warm events and communications.
  • To coordinate and support the keep warm events.
  • To support with the planning and delivery of all NCS programme delivery, including residential programmes and communications.
  • To assist NCS wave and team leaders and seasonal staff with the delivery and logistics of NCS programmes.
  • Undertake routine activities and communication, including working alongside the Headliners (UK) NCS contract team to ensure excellent customer service.
  • To support the NE Project Manager with our Community Engagement partnerships and activities.
  • Carry out admin functions to support all aspects of the NCs programme delivery.
  • To support the development and delivery of Headliners (UK) North East local social action and youth-led Covid-19 responses.
  • To support the programme development and delivery of our South Tyneside Change Maker groups.

Number of hours a week: 25 hours

Rate of pay: National minimum wage
