Stories London Green Champions Community Clean Up As part of our London Green Champions project, the young people at ELATT College have been engaging in Social Action initiatives such as this community Litter Pick. We worked with two separate groups of young people in Hackney to participate in a community clean up. Our first group of ESOL students completed a litter pick in the Haggerston Hackney area, while the other jumped in canoes for a Regents Canal clean up. In total, both groups collected a total of 8 whole bags of rubbish including un-recycled plastics, glass bottles, crisp packets and garden furniture. These experiences reinforced the importance of taking care of the environment and empowered the young people to make a difference in their communities.
