Join our LGC Autumn Action Programme As part of the London Green Champions project, we are inviting 12-19 year olds interested in the natural world to join our Autumn Action Programme this Half-term. What is it? The Autumn Action Programme are 3-days of FREE trips and activities which will encourage you to have a positive impact on your local environment. The programme is set across 3-days, in different green-spaces and sites across London and is open to all young people who want to share their passion for the environment. Schedule: Tuesday 25th October - Trip to Walthamstow Wetlands, 2 Forest Rd, London N17 9NH. From 1pm - A tour of the wetlands site, an internationally important nature reserve with important habitats for wetland birds, birds of prey and insects. This trip will include nature-based activities from wildlife identification (think - peregrine falcons, newts and massive dragonflies) to talks about the environment and our emotional well-being. There will be an opportunity to explore the nature reserve and practise some wildlife photography before enjoying some snacks onsite. Wednesday 26th October - Community Litter Pick, Wildlife Walks and Photography. From 12pm at Haggerston station to Victoria Park - A tour of the canal and local green-spaces. We will conduct a litter pick throughout our journey and learn more about the green-spaces and wildlife we observe before coming up with some creative ways we can help and promote nature. Thursday 27th October - Eco-design Workshop at Blackhorse Workshop, 1-2 Sutherland Road, Path, London E17 6BX. From 10:30am - An exciting, hands-on morning building your own wildlife-friendly structures to attract more biodiversity into your local green-spaces. From the choice of bird houses or bug hotels, you will be introduced to wood-work and the various ways you can build for nature.
