Headliners (UK) is a national charity that supports disadvantaged young people to have a voice. We enable and empower the most vulnerable children and young people to share and amplify their voices so they are heard. We use multi-media programmes and tools to help young people learn new skills, engage with other people from different backgrounds and give them the means to make good choices in their own lives. The charity delivers a range of projects and services across the UK and in order to meet the demand for our services, Headliners (UK) is looking to contract recruit a bank of Sessional Project workers. We require sessional workers based in the North East (Tyne and Wear), London and Northern Ireland This bank of sessional workers will be used to work alongside permanent staff as and when required, to support the rolling out of Headliners (UK) programmes. Sessional workers may also be used to cover periods of annual leave, vacant posts, and staff sickness delivering existing Headliners (UK) activities. Headliners (UK) would commissioned sessions workers through a contract for services contract. In order to be placed in the bank of Headliners (UK) sessional workers interested candidates will need to:- Complete and submit an application form and return it to [email protected] Complete interviews (if selected) with Headliners (UK) Senior Managers and young people. Have returned to Headliners (UK) a satisfactory enhanced DSB check (a one off cost to the worker payable as part of their first project) and 3 satisfactory references. Complete a Headliners (UK) induction including basic training on Headliners (UK) ways of working and safeguarding for the sessional support worker. • Shadow the delivery of at least three Headliners (UK) sessions with young people for the Sessional workers All sessional workers that have been selected by the Headliners (UK) application process, completed their Headliners (UK) induction and have met all of the above criteria will be considered to be “Successful Candidates” and will then be retained on the Headliners sessional worker bank. Sessional workers hours are variable, as and when required by Headliners (UK) and may include school holidays, evenings and weekends. Sessional workers are employed in projects under the supervision of the requisite Headliners (UK) Manager, they will receive supervision, training and will have regular appraisals. Any training required by Successful Candidates to complete their sessional worker induction is provided free by Headliners (UK). Banked sessional workers will be paid for the work that they do on a monthly basis with the work being directed by Headliners (UK) and is based on; - the work that is required by Headliners (UK) - the needs of the contract/commission), - the suitability of the banked sessional worker to meet these needs (based on attitude, commitment, skills etc), - together with the availability of the sessional worker.
