Our Projects Current projects Aiming High The Headliners (UK) North East England team are delighted to be able to deliver Aiming High in Newcastle, Gateshead, South Tyneside and North Tyneside for three years funded by The Santander Foundation, where we work with young people from new, emerging and established migrant communities. Our project is split into two parts, Aiming High: Your Digital Friend and Aiming High: Looking after your money. Aiming High – Your Digital Friend: takes young people through the different ways to clearly communicate and use various digital platforms. They learn about the importance of cyber security and how to use web browsers safely to evaluate trustworthiness of information. They use search engines as well as using emails and different communication platforms such as WhatsApp to build their confidence to use these safely. We use the medium of photography to enable the young people to learn and enable them to use video creation and editing software to showcase their learning to gain their OCN accreditation. Aiming High – Looking after your Money: This part of the project takes young people through the basics of budgeting and to create a budget with the help of websites and apps safely and living to that budget. They learn about the importance of keeping financial information digitally safe and reduce their vulnerability to fraud when shopping online and how password protection and limiting the amount of information shared online can keep data safe. We support young people to identify the opportunities to learn to manage the credit and debt cycle traps and the importance of saving when they can.
