What young people in Hackney need

A lot of local young people are getting into trouble because they’re so bored and they are getting into all sorts of criminal activity because there’s nothing for them to do. The youth activities at the moment are for young kids around the age of 7 to about 12. If there were more things for kids around the age of 14 and up I think the amount of criminal activities would go down quite a lot.

This would mean there wouldn’t be so much bad comments in the papers and on the TV about kids and the youth of hackney. Areas would start gaining trust and their wouldn’t be so much gang violence and post code wars and then the community will be able to spend money on thing such as parks, youth clubs and other activities. So that’s how I would like to see things change and even if it takes about 2 to 3 years it will be worth it all in the end because the area won’t have such a bad name no more.

Now my solution to this would be that we should compare this to areas such as Mile End which has a skate park and a go-carting track. However young people in Hackney are more likely to be in to motor sports, even if we can only get a go-carting track up it would take the kids minds off committing crimes which can change their futures for the worst.
