If I were in Charge of London

The world would be a very different place if young people were in charge. Sophia, 11, wishes she were in charge of London.

Sophia faceIf I were in charge of London, I would make things cheaper so people could afford things and enjoy their life more.

Secondly, I would make places cleaner and greener. I would advertise more outdoor activities and use computer games like the Wii to keep people fit. I would grow more plants and free animals from the Zoo, by putting them in a place where they belong, in their own habitat. Animals don’t enjoy being locked up in cages in a small space kept away from their family.

Then I would make public transport less complicated so one platform would lead to all the places you wanted to go. I would get rid of transport that causes global warming and we would all chip in and help recycle on the buses and trains. I would ban free newspapers because people end up throwing them away. I would stop people littering on the streets and stop them from throwing rubbish into the sea, because then sea creatures start dying and animals don’t have anything to eat apart from rubbish, which they also get stuck in.

Lastly, I would make public toilets smell nice by putting air fresheners in them. I would ban smoking altogether so less people had lung cancer and died. This means children and babies wouldn’t get addicted to it and teenagers wouldn’t make their friends smoke.
