An Odd New Trend in Transport
By Daniel Pare, 11
In a new trend, people are using certain eco-friendly ways of transport including hydro cars- the car that runs only on water. The creator of Hydrocars Inc said today “we are delighted to introduce Hydrocars!! Everyone here hopes that it will be the end of all the government’s ecological problems.”
However, Hydrocars’ biggest market rival today hit back with Dirt-fuelled Tunnel Forgers. They tunnel under the surface of the earth to get to your destination without the traffic! The creator of tunnel forgers, Zephaniah Jones, was questioned but was not available for comment. Protesters today chained themselves to the gate of the company, saying that the product was not eco-friendly because it would disrupt the delicate balance inside the earth’s crust.
And finally, the street craze of bareback gerbil riding!!! This dangerous sport has already had over 25 casualties but it has not stopped hardcore fans. Gavin Heading said, “I love bareback gerbil riding!! As soon as you get on, adrenalin kicks in and you are invincible!!!”
World War Four Update
By Sophy Johnston, 9, and Louis O'Shaughnessy, 10
In the most recent developments in the ongoing global conflict, poisonous gases have been leaking out of the centre of the Earth, causing 4,500 people to choke to death in France. An explosion occurred at a farm as a result of the gas leak. The farmer, Jean-Pierre, was unharmed but four chickens and a frog were killed. Jean-Pierre said “I was just feeding the sheep, when I heard a ‘bang’. I went to see what the matter was and found my crops destroyed.”
World War Four began as a result of Queen Elizabeth 2nd being killed by a Russian assassin nearly one thousand years ago. People from all over the world are travelling to distant galaxies because their homes have been crushed and they fear being killed in the conflict. The government has been criticised for making money out of these refugees, exploiting their desire to get out fast. One family in Europe is also gaining money by selling shelter to refugees.
The cause of the lethal gas leaks which have led to these latest casualties, including the poisoning of over 1,000 children, remains a mystery. There are rumours that aliens have been found hiding in gas stations around the globe, and some claim they are responsible for leaking the gas from the Earth’s core. A government spokesperson refused to comment on these speculations.
The Big Eye
By Sophia Andersson-Gylden, 10
Yesterday at 6 pm locals from the village of Coszta said a deceased giant eye had been discovered at the bottom of the ocean off the coast of Bulgaria. Swimmers brought it to land and it was transferred straight to the National Science Museum. The eye is 300ft in circumference.
Scientists believe that the eye died from a poison that targets the young. This poison is deadly enough to kill an octopus and 50 human beings. The government has announced a plan to destroy the eye to stop it harming others; they are also making plans for a vaccination to stop people getting this deadly disease.
A Government spokesperson gave a stark warning when he said “Britain is in danger and if we don’t do something now the country will be at great risk - I’m talking to all the citizens of this land.”
Others, however, believe the discovery is nothing more then an octopus. Scientists are keen to keep hold of the mysterious creature so they can do more research. The issue has caused a split in the international political and scientific communities as to whether the creature should stay in the museum or not. Scientists say they may be able to develop an antidote to the poison if they are able to run tests on the creature. However, the government believes there is no guarantee an antidote will work, and say the eye poses a risk to public health and should be destroyed.
Mayor Announces New Modes of Transport
By Maryam Akerbousse, 8
In a press conference at Islington Town Hall this morning, the Mayor of London announced major changes to the city’s transport for 3007. Our streets will see some weird and wonderful new vehicles, such as flying cars, walking aeroplanes and sliding trains. The Mayor said “This probably will seem strange, although technology will get even stranger in the years to come.”
The areas that will be most affected will be in the East and South of London; the plans are focussed on these areas because they are small and densely populated. Changes were needed to the our transport because more people are traveling than ever before and people want to travel in a more exciting ways, although these new ideas may sound crazy to some.
A member of the public said “This a really good idea because it is a more interesting way of traveling.” Another disagreed, however, saying “This is a stupid idea because the money spent here can be spent on other important things like cures for diseases.”
Science Police Score Major Victory in WW4 Battle
By Gyasi Rogers, 10
The Science Police scored a major victory in World War Four when a race of volcanic aliens were wiped out by a mega dynamite nuclear bomb, which also vapourized all of England, France, Russia, Australia, and Northern Ireland. 50% of the earth’s ocean was incinerated by the blast.
The Science Police had been engaged in battle with aliens from the planet Zylo since last Friday and successfully drew them back to the edge of a super active volcano. The volcano contained a dangerous chemical which merges with what ever it makes contact with. After trapping the Zylonians the Science Police were able to target them with the nuclear bomb.
Everyone on Earth was evacuated to Mars to avoid the danger posed by the bomb and the volcanic instability it would cause.
World War Four erupted four weeks ago when the Zylonians invaded. Nearly half the galaxy is involved and so far twenty million people have been killed and over a thousand injured. The mass destruction has been causing chaos around the solar system.
Ruins from Y2K Found - Seems to be a Giant Eye
By Gabby Ali Craig, 11
A family enjoying a trip to space made an unusual discovery as they were moon walking yesterday. They came across a huge sphere-shaped object which they began to dig out of one of the Moon’s gigantic craters, located at 143 degrees longitude.
The travellers were fascinated to find out that this object was a giant eye made from slime that measured 500 metres around. The father, Mr. Goggles, who is a scientist, estimated that the eye dates from the year 2000.
This discovery is sure to make waves in the scientific and archaeological communities.
Zayo's Future of Transport
By Tristan Andersson-Gylden, 10
The Future Transport Fair 3007 opened this morning in Dragontopia, Goldenland. The Fair is designed to show people the new trends in transport that engineers have been working on. A local visitor to the Fair predicted: “Well I expect people will use submarines more often, and cars powered by either wind or water. Bareback snake and dinosaur riding, big robots and humongous monsters will also be possible vehicles that you could travel on in the near future. My favourite was a type of big, squishy ball that rolls when you sit on it”.
The Mayor, who opened the show, described the vehicles on display as “the weirdest and coolest modes of transport we’ve ever seen.” Thomas, 13, agreed and said “I’m looking forward to how fast these new robots will be.” However his cousin Theo, 19, thought that money was being wasted making new types of transport which were too expensive for most people to use.
