My story starts in the UK which people in my country, St. Lucia, think is the best place to be if you are looking for a good life. But before I came to this country people in my country told me so many things that I could not wait to come to the UK because of the stuff they were telling me.
When I finally arrived in the UK I thought I would have the time of my life but things did not turn out to be what I thought it would be.
As time passed by the place was getting worse; people getting killed and many robberies happening. So while I did not think the UK to be an ideal place, I also notice that crime is getting out of control.
I asked a boy who lived by where I was living before if he would like to stay in England all his life. He said: "No, I will stay a while and then I'm going back". So we talked about why we were here, what we want to do in our lives and to go back to our country.
But the UK is not all bad. One good thing about it is the economy is very good. I think that 's why my parents sent me to the UK - to look for a bright future. I can have a future in my country but the economy is not very good although you could still make a living.
One of my favourite features of England is Big Ben - the big clock tower - which you can also see in the movie called Around the World in Eighty Days starring Jackie Chan.
I also always walk past Whitehall all the way to Trafalgar Square.
People living in England often have a very short fuse and are very high tempered. I don't like people who disrespect their parent not all of the kids are like that though but the majority of them are. That's what makes me want to keep myself to myself before I end up in jail!
But anyway, I could agree that the UK is a nice place to start a new life.
