Headliners produce recycling DVD

Three members of Headliners joined Belfast’s Lord Mayor and Bryson charitable group to launch a film they'd made about recycling.

Sort It Out Launch

A recycling film produced by Headliners has been launched by the Lord Mayor of Belfast Jim Rogers. Sort It Out, which was made in conjunction with Bryson Charitable Group, aims to teach young people about the three Rs of the environment, reduce, reuse and recycle.

Three members from Headliners Belfast, Ben Ritchie, Colum Cole and Katrina McKee, made the film. The DVD was shown to young people from local primary schools at the Lord Mayor’s parlour.

Headliners staff journalist John Boyle who helped the members in the project said: “It was a great project and Ben, Colum and Katrina learned a lot from it. This DVD will be distributed to most schools in Northern Ireland and used as an educational resource. It will be aimed at younger pupils who are year 8, 9 and 10.”

Ben Ritchie added: “I really enjoyed making it and hope the young people watching enjoy it.”

Due to the success of this project Bryson Chartable Group has asked us at Headliners to produce another educational DVD about what happens to our waste after it is collected and how is it made into new products. This project is to begin in the New Year.
