We often get used to the same old routine and become comfortable with our surroundings. Many people may like where they live whereas others will not.
Sometimes while moving something might be left behind which could be friends, family or even items close to you.
Change is not something to be negative about, Change is a good thing, and it is not always bad.
I recently moved from Tottenham to Enfield. At first I did not like the idea. I was comfortable in my house, as I had lived there for 17 years! I did not think I would like the new house or area because it was nothing like my old area.
The environment was so different. For example, I was so used to police sirens throughout the night and now it is much quieter. I have met new people, which rarely ever happened in Tottenham because I knew everybody already.
Everyday I saw the same old faces and it was about time I ventured out and met new people. There are also many disadvantages to the move.
The 15-minute journey to college has now been extended to a long one-hour and a half bus journey. I loved being so close to my college.
Although it can be tiring traveling so far on the bus, it has also enabled me to plan different bus routes and explore different areas I was not familiar with before.
It is taking my younger brother longer to adapt to the move. When we are on one of our long bus journeys, he often tells me the bus journey is too long and he misses the old house. I just tell him the advantages of the move to make him feel better and in time he will probably like the new area and look forward to the next move!
