Violence, Abuse and Bullying is What Worries us Most
115 young people from across England came together for a three-day event to decide how to spend over £120,000.
This week over 100 children and young people from all over England came together and decided it was violence, abuse and bullying that worries them most.
Young reporters from Headliners were invited to report on and take part in a three day event where 115 young people were given the power to decide what England’s Children’s Commissioner should be spending his money on next year – and bullying and violence came out on top.
The event was organised by 11 MILLION, a national organisation led by the Children’s Commissioner, Sir Al Aynsley-Green, in Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire.
The aim was to let young people decide what £126,000 should be spent on. Drama, debate, and art were used to explore 14 issues which included everything from family and friends to transport and international issues. And finally they cast their votes.
More reports will follow.
