| Their antics promote the message that you must always strive for what you want most... |
You may have heard that this film is about a mission. That's true, but not one of those missions in which someone has to die (although on many occasions Harold and Kumar almost did) This particular mission was the most unusual I'd ever seen, as it was based on finding the ultimate perfect burger.
With side-splitting humour as the foundation, Harold and Kumar really do take hunger to a new level. But it wasn't only about the buns. There is also a moral; both Kumar (Kal Penn) and Harold (John Cho) clearly demonstrate that standing up for your beliefs, rights, and indeed yourself is an absolute necessity.
Their antics promote the message that you must always strive for what you want most, in their case what they wanted most was a burger from White Castle.
As well as the burger Harold strives throughout the flick for some courage to ask out Maria - the girl of his dreams who lives on the same floor whom he hasn't yet spoken to.
The duo go to extraordinary lengths to achieve their goals, from getting lost and being bitten by a possibly rabies-carrying raccoon, to being intimidated, humiliated, and even trying a spot of hand gliding. The sky's the limit.
The film is by the makers of Dude, Where's My Car? Harold and Kumar Get the Munchies is in the same class bracket without a doubt.
