Project 13 - the exhibition

Young photographers trained by Children's Express journalists have been showcasing their favourite work about their communities at Belfast's Waterfront Hall.

Young photographers trained by journalists from Children's Express have been showcasing their favourite work at Belfast's Waterfront Hall.

The result isn't just new skills for the young people, it's a new insight into children and their communities.

Project 13 is a unique collaboration between Children's Express and four different youth clubs in Belfast.

Five members of Children's Express worked with around thirty children on the verge of becoming teenagers, to develop their photographic skills.

The goal was to first appreciate the artistry in photography and then be able to go out and take pictures. Top professional photographer John Harrison kindly took time out of his busy schedule to work with the group.

The result isn't just new skills for the young people, it's a new insight into children and their communities in Northern Ireland.
