The boys in black are back! This time Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith have to chin even larger and more gruesome intergalactic aliens to return the light of Zartha to its rightful owners.

The only complication is power crazy alien (Lara Flynn Boyle) who wants to stop them or, more preferably, eat them.
Funnier and more sharply observed than the first, Men in Black 2 will have you in stitches with it's one liners and mesmerised by it's state-of-art computer graphics and special effects.
Old and new characters feature in the many twists and turns. The unwitting Kay (Jones), has been in happy retirement for five years, but is rudely awakened with the knowledge that he unwittingly holds information that can save earth from destruction.
What ensues is the inevitable fight between good and evil as Kay rejoins Smith as one of Earth's special agents, whose primary purpose is to protect the planet from Alien invasion.
Men in Black 1 brought in over $587 million dollars so expectations are high for its sequel to bring much more.

It's understandable, Jones, Smith and Boyle are first class actors who take on the roles with great confidence and enthusiasm. They are well matched by the cleverness of the film's vast array of special effects, which are deployed to enhance the movie's script, rather than replace it.
Men in Black isn't a film with a message, the pace is fast and furious and the laughs are designed to come thick and fast, but in some cases the humour gets a little blue as well.
Rated PG, we found ourselves thinking that in a few instances the humour would not sit well with parents of younger children.
This is a film that the whole family could go and enjoy together but be warned you need to see the prequel to understand the deeper plot.
We saw this in the Warner Village cinema in Belfast's Odyssey Centre with their special sound system, but if you see it anywhere you will come out satisfied and content.
It's well worth the money and if you want to treat yourself or the family this is the film to see.
