It aims to actively involve Islington children (ages 5 to 13 years) in a series of media-related learning processes, including the design and production of the regular glossy publication Loud n Clear, videos and documentaries, short animations and photography projects.
Loud n Clear is open to everyone! We enjoy the diversity of young people's backgrounds, experiences and abilities, which brings a rich variety of stories to be shared and told. We encourage young people to work at their own pace and to work in small story teams together; staff are always at hand to support the working groups and introduce new skills.
The young people involved in Loud n Clear benefit from having the support of experienced adult journalists and youth workers, as well as access to computers, digital cameras and other equipment used in journalism.
The young people who are introduced to the programme through outreach are also welcome to become members of the London newsroom at any time. This means they get to join other young people from across London and take part in a diverse range of activities after school, on Saturdays and during the holidays.
Aims

- Re-engage young people who are not in involved in main-stream education, through mixing literacy with other exciting learning activities (photography, film, Internet).
- Review local services and service provisions in Islington
- Identify gaps in services, highlight new services and improve information about them.
By children and young people for everyone
Loud n Clear allows young people an opportunity to have their say about what is going on in their community. The best way to do so is for them to be actively engaged in all stages of producing the magazines and films, from suggesting story ideas, researching, interviewing and writing to designing magazines and editing the films.
